“ADP integration” is not one technical or payroll workflow. Product editions, file formats, connector methods, fields, and support ownership can differ. Buddy Punch, Workyard, and Timeero should therefore be evaluated against the employer's exact ADP product and the documented transfer route proposed for it.
Buyer constraint: earning codes and jobs overlap
Imagine a field worker recording time across jobs while payroll needs employer-defined earning codes and a fixed period cutoff. A job change is operational context, not necessarily a payroll category. If mappings mix those concepts, approved totals can still reach the wrong destination field.
Buddy Punch merits attention for hourly attendance and payroll handoffs. Workyard belongs where construction or job-site operations lead. Timeero is relevant for mobile time, route, location, or mileage evidence. Select the workforce model first, then verify its ADP path.
Decision criteria for a controlled ADP handoff
Map worker identifiers, status, pay group, period, time zone, jobs, employer-defined earning inputs, approved hours, corrections, and terminated users. Determine whether the route uses an export, import, connector, or other supported method. Inspect field validation, cutoff, approval locks, rejected rows, retry scope, duplicate controls, reapproval, audit history, fallback, and support owner.
A clean import does not establish correct pay or legal compliance. Department of Labor recordkeeping guidance can inform the federal process; employers and qualified advisers remain responsible for wage, overtime, state, local, tax, contract, privacy, and notice requirements.
Reproducible mini-check from approved time to ADP
Create fictional workers, jobs, and employer-defined earning mappings. Record regular work, a job transfer, an overnight entry, and a missed-action correction. Approve the period, deliberately invalidate one mapping, and run the documented test transfer or file process.
Correct only the rejected record, preserve the original evidence, and compare source, approval, file or connector log, and ADP result. Time Tracking Scout has not executed this configured workflow.
Exception and verdict: an employee changes pay group
Suppose a worker moves to another pay group during the period. The process should split or route records according to an authorized rule, expose ambiguity, and prevent the same hours from entering both paths.
Choose Buddy Punch for attendance, Workyard for job-site operations, or Timeero for mobile field evidence only when the exact ADP route passes. Reject any handoff whose name implies more certainty than its field-level test proves.
